Lorn Twinkler, the ice queen, sits upon her throne so beautiful and so alone. The sound of a pair of solitary footsteps echo into the throne room. A young woman walks up. She is very beautiful in her own right.

“I’m your biggest fan!” The young woman is emphatic as she pushes memorabilia forward, “Can you sign my Lorn Twinkler lunchbox?”

The queen speaks to her adorning fan, “Of course. . .” The impressionable fanatic hangs on every word; their eyes lock and time freezes, and the start-struck look on Katrina’s face transforms as her eyes widen in dismay.

Before the number one fan can scream for help, a white glow emitting from her chest rapidly engulfs her. The bright glow that once was a person intensifies; until it erupts, and little blue speckles glitter the air. A slight gust of snow swirls around the queen, whispering its icy chill, “I was frightened but not anymore. I’m going to be with you forever and ever.”

The ice queen speaks to her first snow-bee, “I couldn’t ask for more my dear.”

Eventually, all the lands of Toandfro speak of the woman with beauty so pristine no man nor woman can stand it it—the ice queen.

The queen’s army grows as more make the pilgrimage to the castle. Depending on the person, some change into bears, birds or other creatures—most turn into worker bees for the queen.

The Queen’s domain is filled with loving minions, and yet, she still feels lonely and yearning for more. She wants a child, but she is without a suitable mate. She goes out in the world in search of a son and finds a boy named Kay.

The queen looks into the child’s eyes; and little Kay smiles as he speaks to her, “My grandmother has told me tales about you—the snow queen. You’re more beautiful than the stories say.” His innocence keeps him from transforming when he looks into her eyes.

The queen hugs the child and takes him back to her castle. Kay is exactly how she imaged her son would be like.

Unbeknownst to the queen, a little girl named Gerda is on her way to the ends of the Earth in search of her Kay. And the man the queen has been waiting for, by the name of Angel Souls, is at this very moment on his quest to find the woman he was made to love. He will face many challenges and go through hell. If he can overcome the pain, fire, and all the pitfalls that await him then he will emerge brandishing a magic far too great for the ice queen to defy. But that’s a story for another time.
